Bear-Aware Practices
We expect our guests to participate in “bear-aware” practices during their stay with us in Ucluelet. Several bears are put down each year in town due to bears becoming habituated with humans. To avoid this, please note that your coolers, BBQ’s, garbage or any other items that may attract our bears must be stored inside your vehicle or the suite. Fishing gear and fish catch may not be brought into your suite or left outside. If your visit to Ucluelet involves sport fishing, please ensure that you have made arrangements for storage of your catch. Options are with your fishing charter captain, in your enclosed vehicle or bringing them to either of the 2 companies here in town that can vacuum pack and freeze fish.
Pet Policy
No pets on the property, including in vehicles parked outside your unit. Pet friendly accommodation is available in town – please ask us. $100 additional cleaning charge + damages for stained or chewed furniture and belongings + taxes will be applied to guests who make the decision to bring in a pet to our pet-free units. A howling or barking dog left in your car will subject you to additional charges if we must refund all or part of someone’s stay. Sorry, we love them, but do not make exceptions for pets.

Where can I store my fish?
Not in your unit, but you can store it with a local processor (located ½ block away), called Fishfull Thinking, that will clean and flash freeze it for you. Outside storage is not an option because they will attract bears, raccoons and crows. Some fisherman choose to store their fish in coolers in a locked vehicle (must be enclosed), however we strongly recommend the fish processor, as they will flash freeze your catch and vacuum pack for continued freshness for many months to come.
